YOUR COACHES FOR THE 2012 SEASON
Coach Jason Berube – Varsity (Head Coach)

Coach Amanda Daniel – JV

Coach Michael Peterson – 9th (Assistant Coach)

WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW
If you’re not playing club or involved with another sport right now, we encourage you to do something related to volleyball. You have several options: 1) Try Suwannee Sports Academy – they have several programs that are reasonably priced; from individual training, position specific, and team play. 2) Try to find a personal trainer. 3) Club teams have been selected and many have stated their season, but it may be possible to become a “practice player.” You might also find a volleyball trainer through a club team. 4) Buy a ball. Get a friend, hit the courts at Duncan Creek or just bump and set around. Touches on the ball are a GREAT thing.
SPRING WORKOUTS
Our workouts begin Wednesday March 7th at 2:30. We’ll be going every Wednesday and Thursday till Spring Break. You MUST have a physical before you can workout with us. There are no exceptions, sorry. What will we be doing? Plyometrics to improve agility, reflexes, and jumping; Long distance running to build up our endurance; Sprints to improve our quickness; and Abs/Core exercises for a fitter tummy (the Core is used in almost every action regarding volleyball).
EXPECTATIONS
We expect dedication and enthusiasm. We expect that you take care of business in the classroom and that you are a model student of Dacula High School. We expect that if you are not playing a sport right now to see you at workouts and that you are doing something to improve your volleyball skill set. During the summer, we will have a host of open gym dates, camps, pre-season scrimmages, and tryouts right before school starts. Please try to schedule your vacation the first 3 weeks of June, so that come July you can commit to becoming a better player. If you make the 2012 team, we expect you to be 100% committed to our program. You’ll be held to high expectations as a Dacula Volleyball Student Athlete.
INVITE YOUR FRIENDS
Tell your friends to participate in workouts, summer activities and tryouts (they need a physical too). We have fun and the more the merrier. If you know any 8th graders that will be attending DHS next year, encourage them to participate as well. Coach Daniel plans to run workouts for any interested 8th graders.
SUMMER
The summer calendar is not yet complete, but expect June 4th – 24th off. I’m expecting my 3rd child the beginning of June, so I’ll be super busy with that. July 2 – 6 is a “Dead Week,” no sports may meet, hold practices, etc… during this week. The varsity team and if enough JV/9th graders attend, we will attend a pre-season scrimmage at Flowery Branch High School in July. In addition, we will host a youth/beginners camp, but anyone is welcome to attend. We will also have days/nights of open gym, there is no costs and everyone is invited (physical required).
TRYOUTS
Tryouts are  scheduled for August 1 & 2; Wednesday and Thursday in the afternoon from 3:00 - 5:00. A mandatory parent/player meeting will follow the day after the last tryout in the evening.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN DHS VOLLEYBALL!
